off-topic - Operation Odyssey Dawn!

The military alliance  gearing up for yet another “humanitarian war”
this time against Libya!

The UK, US and France have attacked Libyan leader Col Muammar Gaddafi's forces in the first action to enforce a UN-mandated no-fly zone.
Pentagon officials say the US and the UK have fired more than 110 missiles, while French planes struck pro-Gaddafi forces attacking rebel-held Benghazi.
Col Gaddafi has vowed retaliation and said he would open arms depots to the people to defend Libya.
Cruise missiles hit air-defence sites in the capital, Tripoli, and Misrata.

Libyan state TV broadcast footage it says showed some of the 150 people wounded in the attacks. It said 48 people had been killed. There was no independent confirmation of the deaths.
Military officials are said to be assessing the damage from the overnight raids before deciding on their next move.

was the only fighter jet shot down in lybia not the rebels friendly fire?

Sad that the NATO has to get involved, unlike egypt, where the population handled its own sh*t...

@Chris - brilliant!

yep lets combat test those new fighters...not that I'm cynical about Frances lead and the UK's eagerness.

But I agree lets hope they halt the violence and bring it to a swift conclusion

This just got scary over there. My dad was involved in the conflict there almost 25 years ago to the date. It's sad to see us having to go back there, and I'd rather us stay out of it, but Gaddafi has been committing some heinous acts. I'm not sure if this is unwarranted intervention in a civil war or what, and it will probably be debated for years to come. But if we want to get rid of Gaddafi, this was certainly the time to strike, while the forces were weak and confused.
